Hyderabad, Dec 20: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday visited the Statue of Equality in Hyderabad, paying homage to Jagadguru Sri Ramanujacharya, the revered philosopher and social reformer whose teachings continue to inspire generations.

 

Accompanied by Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior officials, the Chief Minister offered prayers and interacted with Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Srimanta Narayana Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji. The discussions centered on India’s spiritual traditions, inclusive philosophy, and the relevance of Ramanujacharya’s message in contemporary governance.

 

Swamiji extended blessings to the Chief Minister and conveyed his wishes for the peace and prosperity of Odisha. As part of the visit, Majhi also released an Odia bhajan dedicated to Sri Ramanujacharya, authored by Sri Sri Tridandi Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji. The devotional song aims to make Ramanujacharya’s life and philosophy accessible to Odia devotees, strengthening Odisha’s cultural and spiritual connect with India’s civilisational heritage.

Speaking after the visit, Majhi described the Statue of Equality as “a magnificent symbol of India’s spiritual legacy and a powerful reminder of the timeless values of social justice, inclusiveness, and human dignity championed by Sri Ramanujacharya.” He added that these ideals continue to guide Odisha’s vision of balanced development, social harmony, and peoplecentric governance.

 

The visit reaffirmed Odisha’s respect for India’s spiritual heritage and its commitment to upholding the ideals of equality, wisdom, and harmony in public life. Officials noted that the Chief Minister’s engagement highlights the growing emphasis on integrating cultural values with governance, reflecting Ramanujacharya’s enduring relevance in modern society.
