Bhubaneswar, Sep 10: A high-stakes cabinet meeting of the Odisha government is scheduled to take place this evening under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The meeting is scheduled to take place at 5 pm in the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhavan and is expected to deliberate on several key departmental proposals.

Sources indicate that more than five proposals from various departments will be tabled for discussion. Prominent among them are proposals from the Revenue & Disaster Management Department, the Works Department, and the Water Resources Department.

These proposals are likely to focus on infrastructure development, land management reforms, and water conservation strategies — areas that have been prioritized by the new BJP-led government.

This cabinet meeting comes at a time when the CM Majhi administration is actively pushing for rapid governance reforms and enhanced public service delivery.

The Revenue Department is expected to present proposals related to digitization of land records and streamlining property registration processes. The Works Department may propose new road and bridge construction projects to improve connectivity in rural and urban areas. Meanwhile, the Water Resources Department is likely to bring forward plans for irrigation expansion and flood control mechanisms ahead of the monsoon season.
