CM Majhi’s Fertilizer Review: Farmers to Get Timely Support

Bhubaneswar, Sep 11: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan to assess the fertilizer supply situation across Odisha.
With the Kharif season underway, the CM emphasized the need for efficient distribution and strict monitoring through PACS and LAMPCS in all districts.
Majhi directed all District Collectors to ensure real-time tracking of fertilizer allocation and warned of immediate action against any reports of black marketing, hoarding, or counterfeit products. He advised that seized fertilizer should not be wasted but redirected to nearby cooperative societies for distribution to farmers.
According to the Agriculture Department, Odisha requires 9.55 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer for the 2025 Kharif season. The Centre has already allocated this quantity, and the state currently holds 11.66 lakh metric tonnes in stock, of which 9.85 lakh metric tonnes have been sold.

CM Majhi instructed MARKFED officials to expedite supply and ensure that various grades of fertilizer reach PACS and LAMPCS based on district-level demand. Enforcement teams have been asked to intensify inspections at block and district levels to curb illegal activities.
The Odisha CM also stressed the importance of crop diversification and integrated farming systems.
He announced incentives for cultivating oilseeds and pulses, aiming to boost productivity under the Samruddha Krushak Yojana. Special attention will be given to flood-affected areas, with tailored support for farmers to resume agricultural activities without disruption.
Deputy CM KV Singh Deo, Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bal
Samant, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, and
senior officials including Arabinda Padhee and Shashwat Mishra attended the
meeting. District Collectors joined virtually to report on local distribution
and stock status.
