Berhampur, Apr 27: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited Ganjam district and attended various programmes, including Maa Budhi Thakurani Yatra at Berhampur.
The Chief Minister walked on foot from Mahuri Rajabati to Deshibehera Sahi and offered prayers to Maa Budhi Thakurani at her parental house. He interacted with local people and priests and inquired about the festival, which will be held for three more days.
Maa Budhi Thakurani is on a biennial sojourn to her parental house at Deshibehara Sahi, three kilometre from her temple. It has been twenty-four days since the goddess was escorted in a procession and seated on a temporary platform. The festival will be celebrated for three more days, according to the organisers.
Today, the daily ritual of Ghata Parikrama (Soul Movement) ended amid beating of drums and musical instruments, chanting of Mantra, and the participation of devotees.

✨Manasika Dharies (Blessing Seekers) took Bagha Besha and Landa Besha and performed dances to appease the goddess to fulfill their wishes.
While thousands of devotees from various parts of the Ganjam district and other parts of Odisha gathered to witness the important Ghata Parikrama culmination ritual, a tight security arrangement was made for the Chief Minister's visit.
After having Darshan of Maa Budhithakurani, the Chief Minister graced the centenary celebrations of Bhimapur High School in Patrapur block.
