Bhubaneswar, Oct 13: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to visit Puri on Monday to meet and interact with the Habishyali women staying at the Brundabati Nivas camp.
As part of the state government’s outreach and welfare initiative, the Chief Minister will arrive at the camp around 4:45 PM to personally inquire about the well-being, facilities, and challenges faced by the pilgrims.
The Habishyalis, mostly elderly women who observe the holy Kartika month with fasting and rituals in Puri, have been staying at the government-run Brundabati Nivas. The Chief Minister is expected to spend nearly an hour with them, listening to their experiences and suggestions, and assessing the arrangements made for their comfort and safety.
Following his interaction at the camp, CM Majhi will proceed to the revered Shree Jagannath Temple at 5:50 PM to offer prayers and seek blessings from Lord Jagannath. The visit holds spiritual and cultural significance, especially during the auspicious Kartika month, which draws thousands of devotees to the holy city.

Later in the evening, the Chief Minister will head to the Circuit House, where he will hold a review meeting with senior district officials. The discussion will focus on administrative preparedness, infrastructure, and ongoing development projects in Puri, particularly those related to the Kartika festival and pilgrim management.
State officials have confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made for the Chief Minister’s visit, and security has been tightened in key areas.
