Paradip, Nov 4: The coastal town of Paradip is all set to host the grand inauguration of the 33rd Kalinga Baliyatra Tuesday, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi scheduled to formally open the festival.
Final preparations have reached their last stage, and the venue along the Paradip seashore has been beautifully decorated to welcome thousands of visitors.
Following tradition, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the
festival and is scheduled to spend the night in Paradip. He will attend the
Boita Bandana Utsav at Paradip Port Wednesday before returning to Bhubaneswar.

This year’s Kalinga Baliyatra promises a vibrant cultural showcase, featuring performances by renowned artists from Odisha and beyond. Bollywood playback singer Ankit Tiwari will headline the event, adding star power to the celebrations. Alongside him, Ollywood musicians and performers from various districts, including Jagatsinghpur, will present their talents on stage.

The Kalinga Baliyatra Committee has also extended opportunities to local artists to exhibit their crafts and performances, making the event a platform for cultural exchange and community pride. Business exhibitors from across Odisha and other states have already begun setting up stalls, offering a wide range of products and services.
To ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the CM Majhi’s visit and the festival, the administration has implemented stringent security measures. Jagatsinghpur SP Ankit Verma confirmed the deployment of 21 platoons of police force and 40 senior officers to oversee security arrangements.
The Kalinga Baliyatra not only celebrates Odisha’s maritime
history but also serves as a cultural and commercial hub, drawing thousands of
visitors each year.
