Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the conversion of 92 Railway Over Bridge (ROB) projects in the state to be fully funded and executed by the Indian Railways.

In a post on social media platform X, CM Majhi hailed the decision as a “visionary initiative” that reflects the Centre’s strong commitment to enhancing safety and accelerating connectivity across Odisha. He noted that the move will ensure faster project execution, safer travel, and improved road-rail integration for citizens.

“The approval for conversion of 92 Railway Over Bridge works to 100 percent Railway funding and execution by the Railways as a single entity reflects the Centre’s strong commitment to enhancing safety and accelerating connectivity across the state,” Majhi stated.

The Chief Minister also said that this step will significantly benefit the people of Odisha and aligns with the broader development vision of “Purvoday,” aimed at uplifting eastern India through infrastructure and economic growth.

The Odisha government welcomed the Centre’s support, noting that the decision will ease logistical challenges and expedite the completion of critical infrastructure projects across the state.

This announcement comes amid ongoing efforts to modernize Odisha’s transport network and improve last-mile connectivity, especially in semi-urban and rural regions.
