Bhubaneswar, Oct 3: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for their support in establishing the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Centre in Balasore.

Taking to social media, CM Majhi stated, “The establishment of the NIELIT Centre at Balasore is a matter of great pride for Odisha and will open new avenues of learning and employment for our youth.” He emphasized that students across the state will benefit from the centre’s advanced training in emerging technologies.

A Hub for Future-Ready Skills
The newly inaugurated NIELIT Centre will offer industry-aligned programs in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Semiconductors, and other cutting-edge fields. With flexible digital learning modes and virtual labs, the platform aims to equip youth with skills essential for the evolving tech landscape.

CM Majhi reiterated Odisha’s commitment to building a digitally empowered future, stating that the centre will contribute significantly to the state’s growing IT ecosystem.

National Expansion of NIELIT
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw virtually inaugurated five new NIELIT Centres on Thursday, located in Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Balasore (Odisha), Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Daman (Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu), and Lunglei (Mizoram). These centres are part of a nationwide initiative to strengthen human resource development in Information Electronics and Communication Technology (IECT).

Under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), NIELIT continues to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s digital future by fostering technical education and innovation.
