CM Majhi Proposes Hindi Language Promotion In Odisha, Seeks Central Support

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Monday submitted a proposal to the Union Government seeking  promotion of HIndi language in Odisha. 

New Delhi, Nov 4: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Monday submitted a proposal to the Union Government seeking  promotion of HIndi language in Odisha. 

The Chief Minister submitted this proposal at the 32nd meeting of the Kendriya Hindi Samiti held under chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi today. 
The proposal includes: 

1. There is a need for establishment of a special Hindi Siksha Pratisthan to create more numbers of Hindi teachers and to promote Hindi literature.  

2. Translation of literary works in both languages is necessary for the promotion of Odia and Hindi languages. For this, a special translation centre should be set up with the financial assistance of the Official Language Department of the Central Government.

3. More cultural programmes should be organised at both national and state levels for cultural exchanges between Hind and Odia languages and literatures. 

4. Besides, an inter-langurue research institue should be established in Odisha. 

5. The State should get Central grants and special assistance for the widespread use of Hindi in the education system. There will be no shortage of resources for teaching Hindi.

6. Special grants and assistance should be provided to various schemes and educational institutions functioning in the state for the development of Hindi literature.
