Bhubaneswar, Sep 18: The Odisha Legislative Assembly commenced its Monsoon Session today with tributes to six former Members and one sitting Member who passed away recently.

The House observed a moment of silence in their memory, marking a respectful start to the week-long session.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented the obituary motion, which was passed unanimously by all members across party lines.

Following the obituary proceedings, Speaker adjourned the House for the day.

Legislative business will resume tomorrow, with the session scheduled to continue until September 25, excluding Sunday.
