Bhubaneswar, Aug 3: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of keyman Ituha Oram, who lost his life in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion near the Odisha-Jharkhand border.
Ituha Oram was reportedly on duty when the blast took place, resulting in fatal injuries.
In a heartfelt statement, CM Majhi conveyed his condolences to Oram’s bereaved family and acknowledged the keyman’s dedication to public service. “Ituha Oram’s sacrifice will not be forgotten. He served with commitment and courage, and his untimely demise is a loss to the entire state,” the Chief Minister said.
To support the grieving family, CM Majhi announced a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). The aid is intended to help the family cope with the sudden loss and ensure their immediate needs are met.
The state government has also assured that it will extend all necessary support to the family and initiate a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
Security has been tightened in the border areas following the incident, and authorities are working to identify those responsible for the attack.
