: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and sought continued Central support for the state’s development journey, highlighting achievements in law and order, industrial growth, cooperative sector revival and welfare schemes.

Naxal-Free Odisha

CM Majhi thanked Shah for his leadership in helping Odisha earn recognition as a “Naxal-free state.” He said the elimination of Left-Wing Extremism has created a favourable environment for socio-economic development. Under the Gramodaya Yojana, the state is ensuring effective implementation of Central and state welfare schemes in erstwhile Naxal-affected areas.

Law and Order, Industrial Growth

The Chief Minister briefed Shah on proactive policing measures that have helped maintain law and order. He also underlined Odisha’s rapid industrial growth over the past two years and sought Centre’s support in strengthening industrial security to sustain investment and development momentum.

Cooperative Sector and Welfare Schemes

CM Majhi expressed gratitude for the Centre’s support to the cooperative sector, particularly in reviving sugar mills. He highlighted the achievements of the “double-engine government,” noting that direct public outreach and prompt grievance redressal have strengthened public confidence in governance.

Centre’s Assurance

Shah appreciated Odisha’s development-oriented and welfare-driven initiatives and assured full Central support in fulfilling the aspirations of the people. The Chief Minister also held discussions with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, NITI Aayog member K.V. Raju and the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister on key issues.

CM Majhi emphasised that Odisha is moving rapidly on a new path of development, progress and prosperity under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and Shah’s guidance.
