Cuttack, Aug 14: In a spectacular display of patriotism and unity, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led a massive 10-kilometer-long Tiranga Yatra (Tricolor rally) in Cuttack’s Bayalis Mouza on Thursday.
The event was part of the nationwide “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, aimed at promoting respect and awareness for the national flag.
The Tiranga Yatra commenced from Brahmapur Square and concluded at Kalapada, with thousands of citizens joining the Chief Minister in a vibrant procession. Riding in an open jeep and holding the national flag, the CM was greeted with cheers of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” as hundreds of bikers and pedestrians waved flags and chanted slogans of unity.
Women lined the streets with flowers and lamps, welcoming the Chief Minister and adding a ceremonial touch to the patriotic event. The rally was marked by enthusiastic participation from local residents, public representatives, and Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Sethi.

Speaking to the media after the rally, CM Majhi emphasized the symbolic power of the Tricolor, calling it a witness to India’s resolve, struggle, sacrifice, and unity. He stated that the rally was not just a celebration but a national awareness campaign to honor and protect the dignity of the flag.
“This rally plays a vital role in strengthening national unity,” said the Chief Minister. “Inspired by the Prime Minister’s call, similar rallies are being organized across the country to instill a sense of pride and patriotism among citizens.”
The three-day campaign, running from August 12 to 14, has seen widespread participation across Odisha, with the Cuttack rally standing out for its scale and spirit.
