Keonjhar, May 5: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated in-patient and trauma care services at Dharanidhar Medical College and Hospital in Keonjhar on Monday. The launch coincided with the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Dharanidhar Nayak, making it a significant event for the region.
Keonjhar, a mining hub with high vehicular traffic, has been prone to accidents, making trauma care facilities crucial for saving lives. Recognizing this need, Majhi has announced plans to set up trauma care units in medical colleges across all mining districts.
The Chief Minister also unveiled plans for four new medical colleges in Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, and Nabarangpur, aimed at improving Odisha’s healthcare infrastructure.

In addition to healthcare advancements, CM Majhi inaugurated a new police station building and flagged off 17 SUVs and 80 motorcycles for police personnel in Keonjhar. He further announced plans to recruit 32,000 police personnel to strengthen public safety.
The initiative is expected to improve emergency response and healthcare accessibility in Odisha’s mining regions, marking a significant step towards infrastructure development in the state.
