Sonepur, Jun 7: In his first visit to Sonepur after the BJP government took office, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 56 development projects worth over ₹323 crore.

Arriving via helicopter, CM Majhi landed at Sonepur’s temporary helipad, heading directly to the newly constructed Circuit House, which he officially inaugurated.

Following this, he attended a mass gathering at Rameshwar Stadium, where he outlined the government’s priorities.

Several dignitaries, including Balangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, Sonpur MLA Niranjan Pujari, and Kantabanji MLA Laxman Bag, were present at the event.

The Chief Minister opened his address by chanting ‘Jai Jagannath, Jai Maa Sureshwari’, acknowledging the cultural and spiritual heritage of Sonepur.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced the construction of four riverbed reservoirs in Sonepur district. These projects will be developed on the Mahanadi River at Godhaneswar and Khairamal (Biramaharajpur Block), as well as at Harihar Jor in Ulunda and Surubali in Biramaharajpur.
