Keonjhar, Apr 15: On the occasion of Odia New Year and Maha Bishuba Sankranti, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi announced a comprehensive development package of Rs 215 crore for Maa Tarini temple at Ghatagaon in Odisha's Keonjhar district.

According to reports, the Rs 215-Crore Detailed Project Report (DPR) will focus on the holistic development of the Ghatagaon Tarini Temple.

Offering prayers at the temple, the Chief Minister highlighted the profound emotional and spiritual bond that millions of Odias share with Maa Tarini, while underscoring the government's dedication to enhancing the temple's infrastructure, amenities, and overall pilgrimage experience.

The Chief Minister said;" As part of Odisha govt's renewed commitment to preserve and promote Odisha's rich religious and cultural heritage, the development of Maa Tarini temple and its periphery will be held."

"We have earmarked the amount in the annual budget and a detailed project report is being prepared. Once the report is ready, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held to make it a major destination for religious tourism," said Majhi.

The proposed development will focus on the holistic development of the temple, including restoration and beautification of its structure, development of infrastructure such as approach roads, amenities for pilgrims, parking, lighting and sanitation facilities.

The development will also include modern facilities like rest houses, a cultural interpretation centre, food courts, and security arrangements to manage the heavy footfall of devotees.
