Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: Former Odisha Chief Minister and current Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has turned 79 on Thursday. On this occasion, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo received heartfelt greetings from across the political spectrum.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan took to social media to convey their wishes and prayers for Patnaik’s health and happiness.

Patnaik served as the 14th Chief Minister of Odisha from 2000 to 2024. His 24-year tenure — 24 years 96 days — is the second longest for a chief minister of any Indian state, after Pawan Kumar Chamling of Sikkim (1994-2019) — 24 years 165 days.
As Odisha moves forward under new leadership, Patnaik’s role
