Sambalpur, July 28: Chief Minister Mohan Chanan Majhi has allocated Rs 50 crore for the Sambalpur Riverfront Development Project proposed by Sambalpur MP and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan a week back.
With the funds allocated in the budget, Sambalpur City will now see development in the Gujarat model. The Riverfront Project will be developed in the 7-km ring road area of Old Ayodhya Sarobar in Gujarat Sabarmati Riverfront Model.
Facilities like walkways, parks, gyms, and amphitheaters will come up in the project.

✨During his recent Sambalpur visit, Union Minister Pradhan discussed the proposed project with the district administration and advised them to prepare a master plan.
The project will help enhance the water-holding capacity of the Hirakud Dam. Water discharged from the power channel can be utilized properly and drinking water and drainage problems in Sambalpur city can be resolved. Besides, the project will enhance the city's culture and create spiritual and entertaining atmospheres.
Sambalpur will be developed as a major tourist city in the country.
