Chitrakonda, Feb 25: A class X girl student of a residential school in Chitrakonda area of Malkangiri district has given birth to a baby.

The matter came to light when the victim went untraceable from the hostel.

According to reports, the girl student after appearing her exam returned to the hostel and later went missing.

The authorities then informed the matter to the victim's parents, who came to know that their daughter had given birth to a baby.

While the family members were in a state of shock, the head master of the school has blamed the warden and ANM (Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife) for their negligence in work.

On being informed, Chitrakonda police rushed to the spot and rescued the girl student. Subsequently, the girl was sent to the hospital for further treatment and a probe has been launched.
