Subarnapur, Feb 2: In a heartrending incident, a student was killed and another sustained critical injuries in an accident at Metakani Chhak in Subarnapur district on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Krish Mahakur, a Class X student.

The injured student is undergoing treatment. According to the information, the two students were going by motorcycle to attend Saraswati Puja at their school when the bike skidded off the road and hit an electric pole on the roadside. As a result, the two students sustained critical injuries. Both were rushed to the district headquarters hospital where Krish was declared dead. The incident has sent a shock-wave among the villagers, students and parents of the school.
