While the reason behind the incident is yet to be known, a team of fire service personnel has reached the spot and started a search operation.
The girl has been identified as Kajal Sahani, a resident of Mandalia village. She is a Class IX student of the local Hindi School.
According to the information, Kajal allegedly jumped into the river while she was going to school. She had left for school by cycle after eating tiffin in her house.
