Sambalpur, Mar 23: A class 7 student was admitted to a hospital in Sambalpur after he was allegedly beaten by his teacher over a trivial matter.

The incident was reported at Phatabahal hostel under Sambalpur Sadar Police Station.

The matter came to fore after a written complaint was lodged against the teacher Rashmi Ranjan Nayak.

On the other hand , the student, Khiroda Lenka, who sustained serious injuries, is reportedly undergoing treatment at a Primary Health Centre (PHC).

Police have registered a case and initiated a probe against the accused teacher.
