Bhubaneswar, Jan 4: Senior BJP leader and former MLA Pradeep Purohit on Thursday said the BJD government is in no mood to facilitate the return of chit fund money to depositors as many of the ruling party leaders are involved in the Ponzi fraud.
He, however, asserted that the BJP government, if formed, would collect the duped money and return the same to depositors one by one by promulgating an ordinance on the very first day of the government.
"People of the State have been duped of Rs 5000 to 6000 crore by chit fund companies inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik by cutting red ribbons. Many BJD leaders are involved in the chit fund scam. The BJD is fighting elections with the chit fund money,' alleged Purohit.

✨He alleged that the BJD government announced a corpus fund only to grab votes from people. He said the BJD government is not at all committed to paying back chit-fund money to poor depositors.
Besides promising the return of all money to depositors, Purohit also said that all leaders and officers involved in the scam and corruption will be punished by the BJP government after the 2024 elections.
