Bhubaneswar, Oct 19: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended warm wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, encouraging them to celebrate the festival with safety and environmental responsibility.

In his message, the Chief Minister appealed to citizens to observe a “Green Diwali”, emphasising the importance of avoiding harmful firecrackers and promoting eco-friendly practices. He urged everyone to stay safe and celebrate the festival in a way that respects both tradition and nature.

Earlier, the Commissionerate Police of Bhubaneswar had issued Diwali guidelines in line with Supreme Court directives. As per the advisory, bursting of green firecrackers will be allowed only between 7 PM and 9 PM on Diwali day, with strict enforcement measures in place to ensure public safety and environmental protection.
