Puri, Oct 7: In a shocking incident in Odisha that unfolded like a scene from a movie, a youth attacked passengers inside a moving bus near Bindhan Square in Kanas of Puri district.

 

The sudden assault left five individuals, including police personnel, seriously injured. The motive behind the attack remains unclear. The accused has been identified as Bharat Bhoi.

The incident occurred at Kotakana Square, where the accused, reportedly traveling on the same bus, suddenly turned violent and began assaulting fellow passengers. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic and terrifying, with commuters screaming for help as the youth went on a rampage.

 

Local police quickly responded and managed to overpower and detain the attacker. The injured were immediately rushed to the Kanas Community Health Centre for treatment. Medical officials confirmed that all five victims sustained serious injuries and are currently under observation.

 

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, including whether the youth had any prior history of mental illness or criminal behaviour. Preliminary reports suggest no known provocation or dispute prior to the incident.
