✨Soon after being informed, the Medical Superintendent and Registrar rushed to the spot to assess the situation. As a precautionary measure, patients from the affected area were shifted to safer locations within the hospital.
The incident has sparked questions over the maintenance and structural safety of the hospital building. The exact cause of the ceiling collapse remains unknown. A detailed inquiry is expected to determine the reason behind the incident.
The incident comes months after a similar mishap at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack — in January this year, where a portion of the roof in the Old Medicine Ward gave way during treatment hours, leaving a patient injured.
Repeated incidents of structural failures inside major
healthcare facilities have raised questions about maintenance standards and
patient safety.
