Bhubaneswar, Apr 7: A chilling incident of violence has come to light at a prestigious college in Bhubaneswar, leaving students and faculty shocked.

A female student has filed a complaint with the police against a fellow student pursuing his undergraduate studies. The accused reportedly locked the victim in a classroom for an hour, subjecting her to mental harassment and physical assault.

Reports suggest that the incident followed an argument between the two students. The attacker is allegedly an active member of a Biju Chhatra Janata Dal, as revealed by social media.

Two days prior, the same individual is said to have physically assaulted the senior female student, resulting in grave injuries.

The survivor reported the assault to the local Badagada police station and lodged a formal complaint with the college's Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).

Consequently, the college authorities initiated an internal inquiry. Meanwhile, police investigations are ongoing, and sources confirm that the accused has been taken into custody.

This alarming episode raises serious concerns about student safety on campus, calling for robust measures to prevent such incidents and ensure a secure learning environment.
