Balasore, May 6: A bus with around 25 passengers on board overturned and fell from a bridge near Nuniajodi in Balasore district on Tuesday.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the bus was heading towards Balasore. Meanwhile, the driver of the bus lost control over the wheels and overturned near Nuniajodi bridge.

Following the incident, locals immediately swung into action and rescued the injured passengers to the nearby hospital.

Later, ODRAF and fire service personnel reached the spot and took stock of the situation.

Reportedly, around 17 passengers are undergoing treatment at district headquarters hospital.

While the exact cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, police have registered a case and initiated a probe.
