Kendrapara, Sep 12: In a major breakthrough, Patkura police have arrested the prime accused in the brutal Haridaspur murder case, six months after the crime shocked the region. The accused, Nathia Behera of Talasanga village, was apprehended from Bengaluru and produced in court on Friday.
The case dates back to May 6, when Jyoti Ranjan Parida of Haridaspur village was allegedly murdered near the Bichhana Bali Ghat around 10 pm.
According to police sources, Nathia Behera and his associates carried out the attack in a premeditated and ruthless manner before fleeing the scene. The incident sparked widespread outrage, with several social organizations demanding swift justice and the arrest of the culprits.

✨Despite initial challenges, Patkura police intensified their efforts and tracked Nathia’s movements across states. After months of surveillance and coordination, a special team located him in Bengaluru and successfully executed the arrest.
The accused was brought back to Kendrapara and formally charged before the local court. Police officials confirmed that further investigation is underway to apprehend other accomplices and uncover the full motive behind the murder.
