Bhubaneswar, Mar 6: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday unveiled 199 developmental projects in Odisha with a combined investment of Rs3,275 crore. The initiatives span infrastructure, education, security, and cooperative growth, marking a significant boost to the state’s development agenda.
Infrastructure and Security
Among the projects announced were 20 cyber police stations across districts to strengthen law enforcement and cybercrime monitoring. Shah also highlighted the role of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in safeguarding industrial installations and announced further expansion of its responsibilities.
Industrial and Educational Facilities
The developmental package includes new industrial facilities such as the sulphuric acid plant at Paradip, aimed at enhancing fertiliser production capacity. Several schools and colleges are also part of the projects, designed to improve access to quality education in both rural and urban areas.
Cooperative Sector Emphasis
Shah underlined the importance of cooperatives in strengthening the rural economy. He said the projects would support the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, reduce dependency on imports, and empower farmers and rural communities. Initiatives in dairy and agriculture cooperatives were also emphasized.

The event was attended by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, and other dignitaries.
