“Many people engage in politics. A few years ago, there was a perception about politics — that politicians often do not do what they say. The word ‘politics’ had lost credibility. But even then, there were some individuals who restored faith in politics. Dr Debendra Pradhan was one such person,” said the Defence Minister.
“I had the privilege of working with Debendra Pradhan. He was simple, straightforward, and always did what he said. He always practiced what he preached. He served the people and the nation, providing medical services to the public. I drew inspiration from his life. He contributed immensely to Odisha’s development. His role in strengthening the BJP in Odisha was unmatched. He brought changes in education, healthcare, and rural development. Whenever Odisha’s politics is discussed, Dr Pradhan’s name inevitably comes up,” Rajnath Singh noted.

“Now his son, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, continues his legacy. Dharmendra has implemented the National Education Policy 2020 and earlier launched the Ujjwala Yojana.
