Rayagada, Aug 8: Train services were severely disrupted near the Majhighariani Temple area in Rayagada late last night after a large boulder fell onto the railway track.

The obstruction brought all train movement to a standstill for nearly six hours, causing inconvenience to hundreds of passengers.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 12:00 AM, when the boulder crashed onto the track. Trains operating on the route, including the Korba Express, were stranded until 6:00 AM.

Soon after the incident, railway authorities swiftly responded, clearing the debris and restoring partial services.

After clearance, train movement resumed on a single line, while restoration work continued on the other.

Officials confirmed that no casualties occurred, and power supply was restored after the overhead equipment (OHE) was repaired.
