Khurda, June 7: A woman died while her two children sustained critical injuries after an explosion in their house in Ichhapur village under Bolagada police station of Khurda district.

The deceased has been identified as Lily Begum (27).

According to reports, the blast took place inside a house during cleaning activities. Following the incident, Lily sucumbbed to her injuries while her children, who sustained serious injuries were rescued and rushed to Bolagarh Medical for treatment.

On being informed, police reached the spot and launched an investigation.

Authorities are yet to confirm how the explosive reached the house and why it was stored there.

A scientific investigation team has also arrived the scene to conduct a detailed forensic analysis.
