Nabarangpur, Dec 27: In a shocking incident, the body of an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police was found hanging under mysterious conditions at Raising Jodi in Nabaranpur district early Friday morning.

The deceased was identified as Renu Prasad Patnaik, an ASI of the Tentulikhunti police station in Nabarangpur district. Renu Prasad had gone to Nabarangpur for some work on Monday.

He had not returned home since then. However, his body was found hanging this morning. The reason behind his hanging is not known.

On being informed, police reached the spot and started an inquiry, after sending the body to the Nabarangpur District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
