Angul, Jan 18: In a heart-wrenching incident, the bodies of twin babies were recovered from a well on Wednesday in Mundadhipa Sahi under Bantala Police limits in Angul district. 

The victims have been identified as a boy and a girl, both around 3-4 months old, of the couple, Sunil Sahoo and Tapaswini Sahoo.

According to sources, Tapaswini went to her neighbour’s house after putting her babies to sleep. When she returned back, she was shocked to see her babies not present in the house. 

Tapaswini and family members started searching for her baby after hours of searching, they were unable to find the babies. Later, the locals found the body of the twins floating in the well. 

The locals immediately fished out the babies from the well and rushed them to Bantala Community Health Centre (CHC). However, the doctors declared them 'brought-dead'.

A pall of gloom descended on the village following the incident.
