Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has geared up for the 'Pravasi Bharatiya Divas' program, which will be organized in Bhubaneswar for the first time.

The three-day event will be inaugurated at the Janata Maidan on January 8.

The BMC has focussed on the beautification and cleanliness in the capital city. Eighty-five km of wall paintings have been done to beautify the city.

"The BMC has prepared a blueprint to showcase artwork at various squares. The roads up to Nandankanan will be cleaned. Along with this, the work of cleaning the city up to Nuagaon, and repairing open drains and damaged roads are going on war footing. Various major squares like Bani Vihar Square, Utkal University, Ramadevi Women's University, and Master Canteen will be decorated with beautiful artworks that can uphold the sense of Odiasm," said the Mayor.

The Mayor said all beautification works will be completed between January 4 and 5.
