Bhubaneswar, July 29: The Odisha units of the BJP Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha jointly staged a protest in Bhubaneswar today, demanding stringent action in connection with two high-profile alleged rape cases involving BJD corporator Amresh Jena and Congress NSUI Odisha president Udit Pradhan.
The protest, held near the Mastercanteen Chhak in the State Capital, saw participation from scores of youths and women activists who raised slogans against the Opposition BJD and the Congress, demanding justice for the victims and called for the exemplary punishment to the accused.
Addressing the gathering, BJP leaders emphasized that crimes against women should not be politicized and urged the police to act impartially, regardless of the accused’s political affiliation.

✨Mahila Morcha leaders expressed deep concern over the rising incidents of gender-based violence and criticized the silence of senior leaders from both BJD and Congress. “This is not just a political issue—it’s a question of women’s safety and dignity,” said one of the protest organizers.
