Bhubaneswar, Jan 16: The BJP on Tuesday came down heavily on the State government for police action against people opposing Ration hoarding with the Chief Minister's photo and termed police as 'security guards' of Biju Janata Dal.
Addressing a Press conference here, BJP State spokesperson Anil Biswal said the State police are acting against the poor people and the tribals as they have expressed ire against the State government over irregularities in the distribution of the PDS and other Central schemes.
"The Modi Government has been providing free rice to 3.26 crore people in Odisha. But the State government is only putting hoardings with the photo of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and misleading people. Angry at this, people have opposed the hoardings and shifted them from their PDC centers. It has come to our notice that the Kotpad PS IIC called two tribals to the police station and warned them of legal action if they tore hoardings further," said Biswal.
Biswal satirically said the State government should deploy security personnel at each hoarding having the CM's photo henceforth.
