Bhubaneswar, Jul 26: After a three-day visit to Delhi, BJP Odisha State President Manmohan Samal returned to Bhubaneswar and addressed ongoing speculation regarding cabinet expansion.
Speaking to the media, Samal clarified that no discussions on reshuffling ministers were held during the trip. Instead, the visit focused purely on organisational matters and pending party-related work.
There is currently no possibility of cabinet expansion, Samal said.
The BJP’s Odisha unit is set to undergo restructuring through a new committee, formed in accordance with constitutional procedures. This committee will feature both seasoned and new members, with approximately 25% fresh faces.
The state party office will host consecutive meetings today and tomorrow under the leadership of party in-charge officials, discussing various strategic topics.
Samal also stated that pending corporation appointments will be filled soon.
Addressing sensitive issues such as women's safety, the BJP chief confirmed that the party is reviewing recent cases of abuse and will implement firm corrective action.
In relation to the Balanga case, Samal informed that he met with the victim’s family and assessed the minor girl's health.
