✨Internal Rift in BJD
The BJD faced internal tremors as several leaders and workers, including former MP candidate and state general secretary Lambodar Nial and Nuapada Block President Tareswari Sahu, resigned from the Naveen Patnaik-led party. Over 100 grassroots leaders, including sarpanches and panchayat members, joined the BJP today, citing dissatisfaction with the selection of outsider candidate Snehangini Chhuria.
Jay Dholakia’s Commitment
BJP candidate Jay Dholakia vowed to serve the people of Nuapada till his last breath, promising open-door accessibility and community service. He is set to file his nomination on October 18.
BJD Faces Backlash
The selection of former Minister Snehangini Chhuria, who had
lost the 2024 elections by over 29,000 votes from Attabira Assembly
constituency in neighbouring Baragarh district, has sparked discontent among
local BJD workers. Many are reportedly planning to quit the party, leading to
speculation that the real contest will be between BJP and Congress.
