Paralakhemundi, Feb 3: Tension gripped Chandiput village under Mohana police station limits in Odisha’s Gajapati district after a group of miscreants attacked at the residence of BJP state council member Sibaram Suar. The incident, which occurred on Monday night, was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the premises, police said.
According to reports, several unidentified individuals
arrived suddenly and launched an assault on Suar’s house at around 10 PM last
night. Household items kept outside were vandalised. Suar’s mother, who
attempted to resist the attackers, sustained injuries.
After getting information, Mohana Police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter. The motive behind the assault remains unclear, and police have not yet ascertained whether it was politically motivated or linked to local disputes
A Police official said that a thorough inquiry is underway and assured that the culprits and reasons behind the incident will be identified soon.

Meanwhile, Chandiput village has turned into a police camp,
with heavy deployment to prevent further escalation. The incident triggered concern
among locals, who fear a breakdown of law and order in the area.
