Berhampur, Oct 6: In a shocking incident, BJP leader and senior lawyer Pitabash Panda was shot dead near Brahmanagar here in Odisha on Monday night, Police said.

Targeted Attack Near Brahmanagar
According to preliminary reports, the shooting occurred at around 10 PM when Panda was near Brahmanagar. Eyewitnesses said that two bike-borne miscreants fired two rounds at him at close range before fleeing the scene.

Panda was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, where the attending doctors declared him “brought dead”.

Police Launch Investigation
Local police have launched a full-scale investigation into the murder, with forensic teams deployed and CCTV footage being reviewed. Authorities suspect the involvement of organized criminal elements and are exploring possible political or professional motives behind the attack.
