Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: The BJP on Monday targeted the Odisha government over the death of three people in the Hi-Tech Medical oxygen cylinder blast and demanded Rs 1 crore for the family of each deceased.

Addressing a Press meet, BJP spokesperson Anil Biswal said the Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital lacks facilities to provide treatment to persons with severe burn injuries. He wanted to know how victims, who suffered from more than 90 percent injuries, were provided treatment in the Hi-Tech Hospital, which has facilities for treatment of 20 percent injuries only.

Biswal also wanted to know why the Health Department and the Labour Commissioner were still silent when three lives were lost in the mishap. He said action should be taken against the errant soon.

"Is the government silent because Hi-Tech Hospital owner Tirupati Panigrahy is a member of the ruling BJD," wanted to know Biswal.
