Nuapada, Oct 18: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Jay Dholakia filed his nomination papers before the Returning Officer for the bypoll to Nuapada Assembly constituency in Odisha on Saturday. Voting for the bypoll will be held on November 11.
Key Leaders Rally Behind Dholakia
Former State BJP president Basanta Panda and senior party
leader from Komna block leader Somanath Khamari stood as proposers for
Dholakia’s nomination. Two sets of nomination papers were submitted, officials
said.
The nomination filing was attended by prominent BJP figures
including State President Manmohan Samal, Ministers Ravi Nayak, Mukesh Mahaling
and Ganesh Ramsing Khuntia. Their presence highlighted the party’s unified
front and strategic focus on Nuapada.

Post-nomination, Jay Dholakia expressed gratitude to both central and state leadership. He reaffirmed BJP’s commitment to accelerating development in Nuapada and declared the party’s resolve for a decisive victory in the upcoming elections.
The Nuapada Assembly seat fell vacant following the death of
Dholakia's father and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Rajendra Dholakia on
September 8.
