BJP Approaches ECI Against Sujata Karthikeyan, Says She Is Still Working For BJD

Bhubaneswar, May 30: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has complained to the Election Commission of India that Sujata Karthikeyan, despite being a Government officer, has been working in favour of the ruling Biju Janata Dal during the ongoing election.
Senior BJP leader Om Pathak has complained to the ECI against Sujata Kartikeyan. He demanded that Sujata be suspended and sent outside the State for a fair election.
"Sujata is still working in the favour of the BJD under the very guidance of her bureaucrat-turned-politician VK Pandian," alleged Pathak.
So far, the ECI has taken action against three senior officers to ensure a fair election in Odisha. While DS Kuttey, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been suspended, IPS Ashish Singh has been asked to undergo a medical check-up to substantiate the reason for remaining on a long-time leave. Earlier, Sujata Karthikeyan had been shifted from the Mission Shakti as its Chairman for her alleged role in persuading women to support the ruling party.

✨The ECI has taken action against these officers for violating the election code of conduct and the All India Service Conduct Rule.
Former BJP president Samir Mohanty alleged that the State Government has been disbursing salary to two officers Ambika Das and Binod Jena even though their superannuation date has crossed since March 31.
