Key Points

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday approached the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha and lodged three complaints against the State Government.

Bhubaneswar, Mar 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday approached the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha and lodged three complaints against the State Government.

A team led by BJP State Mahila president Aishwarya Biswal lodged the complaints.

The team alleged that the BJD is misusing government machinery for its political gain. It apprised the CEO that Salepur MLA Prasant Behera held a meeting with SHG women after the model code of conduct was enforced.

Stating that SHG women are not involved in political activities, the BJP team also alleged that the BJD had earlier also misused Government officers and SHGs in its interest during elections.

Besides, the BJP urged the CEO to order the government to stop selling illegal liquor. Issuance of liquor licence should be stopped after MCC. "The BJD should be asked to refrain from this. There are many examples of political parties alluring voters with liquor," mentioned the team.

The BJP has also alleged that some officers, who have been in the position for over six years, have not been transferred yet.

"Some officers who had assumed office before the 2019 elections are still in their positions. These officers need to be transferred without delay," demanded the BJP.
