Bhubaneswar, Apr 8: A BJP team led by former State president Samir Mohanty on Monday complained to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) that senior IPS Officer DS Kutey and an old vernacular newspaper violated election model code of conduct (MCC).
The party sought stringent action against them.

"While the Election Commission of India has directed that DS Kutey can not be employed in election duty, Kutey and other police officers are making phone calls to political leaders and working on party lines. He has violated the model code of conduct," alleged Mohanty.

The BJP leader demanded that all mobiles of Kutey should be seized and CDR (Call Detail Record) be made public soon. Strong action should be taken against him, demanded Mohanty.

In another petition, the team apprised the CEO that an old vernacular news day has published a report of a survey agency that 66 percent of people of Odisha want to see Naveen Patnaik as Chief Minister again.

Terming the publication of the report as 'paid news', the BJP alleged that the newspaper violated MCC. The party demanded strong action against the newspaper.
