Bhubaneswar, Apr 4: Some of the BJD Rajya Sabha members are believed to have supported the Walf Ammendment Bill, which was passed in Parliament after a long-period discussion in Rajya Sabha last night.

The BJD Rajya Sabha members' support of the Bill has triggered a political discussion at the national level.

While Sasmit Patra has stated that he supported the Bill in the absence of party whip, Muna Khan, another BJD member of the upper house, is believed to have voted against the bill. Khan opposed the Bill during discussion in the upper house.

The BJD, which sits in the opposition bench, has not yet stated how many of its Rajya Sabha members voted in favor of the Bill. But it is being discussed in the national media that three BJD MPs had voted in favor of the Bill. MP Patra said his party advised the MPs to exercise their franchise on conscience.
