Naveen Announces BJD Support To Vaishnaw In Rajya Sabha Election

Amid the suspense over the third candidate from Odisha for the ensuing Rajya Sabha elections, BJP declared Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw as the third candidate.
Bhubaneswar, Feb 14: Minutes after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s name for Rajya Sabha elections, Naveen Patnaik-led BJD announced that it will support the candidature of Vaishnaw for larger interest of State’s railways and telecom development in Odisha.
"Biju Janata Dal will support the candidature of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon'ble Union Minister, Railways, Communication and Information & Technology for the larger intrest of State's railways and telecom development in the ensuing election to Rajya Sabha-2024," read the BJD relaese signed by party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
On the other hand, Vaishnaw visited Odisha today and received a grand welcome from party leaders.

✨Later, he is scheduled to review the Railway and BSNL projects here today.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi had kept faith in me for that I am grateful to him", said Vaishnaw on his arrival in the city.
