BJD MLA Prafulla Samal's Son Enquired For 17 Hours By ED

Bhubaneswar, Mar 6: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried a 17-hour enquiry to BJD MLA and former Minister Prafulla Samal's son Prayaskanti Samal in connection with Barapada Engineering College land irregularites on Tuesday.
On March 5, around 10 am Samal was asked to appear before the ED and he was seen leaving the ED office around 4 am on Wednesday.
According to the information, data has been recovered from three mobile phones belonging to him. The ED may also ask him to re-appear
Earlier ED had summoned BJD MLA Prafulla Samal and enquired him for eight hours.

✨It may be noted that the ED recently carried out raids on the houses linked to Samal and Prayaskant in Bhadrak and Bhubaneswar and seized assets worth lakhs of rupees, including cash of Rs 9 lakh.

The ED carried out search operations at 10 locations in Bhadrak and Bhubaneswar belonging to Prayaskanti Samal (ex-President), Manoj Kumar Goswami (Secretary), and others of Barapada School of Engineering and Technology (BSET) society in the matter of misappropriation of society money.
It recovered incriminating documents, digital devices, cash of Rs 9 lakh, undated cheques, land agreements, and a costly car worth about Rs 40 lakh during searches.
